Myth: Yuri! On Ice
Past Life Information: A world class figure skater with anxiety and self-image issues, Yuuri Katsuki came very close to leaving the sport for good after a disastrous finish in the Grand Prix Final. After meddlesome... fans uploaded his rendition of the one of Viktor Nikiforov's gold medal routines, Viktor himself saw it, and showed up in Yuuri's family's onsen, announcing his retirement to become Yuuri's coach. Through the course of the Grand Prix Series Yuuri found his joy in skating, his drive to compete, and love... with Viktor.

Personality: Nervous and shy, Victor is currently in the United States from his native Wales on a student visa. He is soft spoken, with a bit of a stutter, and is constantly and completely tripping over his own feet interpersonally. He often wonders why he came to school some place so warm, and visibly wilts in the Louisiana heat starting in April. He is not a shut in. He has to go to class and walk his dog, after all.
Background: Victor's childhood in the small Welsh town in a historic slate mining region, was pastoral. Sweaters and sheep and rain. And music. A piano prodigy, playing at a high level from an extremely young age, he intended to pursue his performance MFA at a conservatory in either New York or Boston. After flubbing the first audition, he flubbed the second, and then the next. By the time he got the acceptance to a non-performance based Master's Program he was so shaken at his complete implosion he thought he would never play the piano again. Since he's been at Tulane he has started to play again, even where people can hear him -- tutoring and private lessons of undergrads to supplement his stipend, and eventually a few gigs accompanying a dance recital. Mostly, he is content to be a homebody, with his dog, Porkchop, and to hopefully be able to shut the bedroom door on any of the nonsense that his roommate occasionally trails home in her wake.
